What does not happen

Neither the website nor the app contains advertising, analytics or tracking services, advertising identifiers or profiling. No data is sold or shared for advertising. The website embeds no fonts, scripts or content from third-party servers — all fonts are served from our own server.

Website

Server log files

On each request the server records the IP address, time, requested address, amount of data transferred, status code, browser and system identifier and, where transmitted, the previously visited page. The purpose is delivering the site, operational security and defence against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Log data is deleted after 14 days at the latest.

Appearance setting

If you switch between light and dark appearance, that choice is stored locally in your browser (localStorage, key bt-theme). It never leaves your device and only serves to keep your setting for the next visit. It is neither analytics nor a cookie.

Bug reports

The form on the “Report” page lets you report a problem. It transmits the email address you enter, your description and the platform you select. The report is processed on our own infrastructure and used solely to handle the case. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data is deleted once the case is closed.

App

The app records video on your device. Recordings stay on the device and are not transmitted to us. Camera, microphone and photo library are accessed only after you grant permission through the operating system, and only for the purpose you granted it for; permission can be withdrawn in the system settings at any time.

Controlling several devices together establishes a connection on your local network. No recordings leave that local network.

The app contains no analytics or crash-reporting libraries, no advertising and no in-app purchases.

Hosting and backups

The website runs on a self-operated server in a data centre in Germany; the infrastructure is provided by netcup GmbH, Daimlerstrasse 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany. Encrypted backups are held in the object storage of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestrasse 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, also in Germany. No transfer to third countries takes place.

Encryption

The site is served exclusively over a TLS-encrypted connection. The certificate is issued by Let's Encrypt.
